Promethazine Information
Uses
Promethazine is a phenothiazine used to treat or prevent
nausea, vomiting, or motion sickness. It may also be
used to treat allergic conditions and other conditions
as determined by your doctor.
How To Use
Follow the directions for using Promethazine provided
by your doctor. Promethazine MAY BE TAKEN WITH FOOD
if it upsets your stomach. IF YOU ARE USING Promethazine
FOR MOTION SICKNESS: take a dose at least 30 to 60 minutes
before you begin traveling. STORE Promethazine at room
temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from
heat and light. IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF Promethazine
and you are using it regularly, take it as soon as possible.
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed
dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do
not take 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include
drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, or nausea. If they
continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor.
CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience
vomiting or increased sun sensitivity. If you notice
other effects not listed above, contact your doctor,
nurse, or pharmacist.
