pressure and angina pectoris (chest pain). It is also
used after a heart attack. Atenolol may also be
used to treat other conditions as determined by your
doctor.
How To Use
Follow the directions for using Atenolol provided
by your doctor. Atenolol may be taken on an empty
stomach or with food. STORE ATENOLOL at room temperature,

do not remember until the next day, skip the missed
dose. Do not take 2 doses at once.

mild drowsiness; lightheadedness or dizziness; or unusual
tiredness or weakness. If they continue or are bothersome,
check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON
AS POSSIBLE if you experience difficulty breathing.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact
your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
Precautions
DO NOT STOP TAKING ATENOLOL without checking with
your doctor. BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY MEDICAL OR DENTAL TREATMENTS,
EMERGENCY CARE, OR SURGERY, tell the doctor or dentist

machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous
until you know how you react to Atenolol. IF YOUR
DOCTOR HAS INSTRUCTED YOU TO CHECK your blood pressure
and heart rate regularly, be sure to do so. BEFORE TAKING
ANY NEW MEDICINE, either prescription or over-the-counter,
check with your doctor or pharmacist. This includes
any medicines used to treat colds or congestion. FOR
WOMEN: ATENOLOL HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE HARM to
the human fetus. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss
with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Atenolol during pregnancy. ATENOLOL IS EXCRETED
IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING
while you are using Atenolol, check with your doctor
or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. FOR
