Actonel
Risedronate is in a class of drugs called bisphosphonates
that are used to treat and prevent osteoporosis (bone
weakening) in postmenopausal women.
Diflucan is used to treat certain yeast infections of the mouth and throat, the urinary tract, vagina,
the lining of the stomach and pelvis, and to treat pneumonia.
It may be prescribed for other reasons.
Esgic Plus is an analgesic, barbiturate, and stimulant
combination used to treat tension headaches.
Evista is used to prevent osteoporosis (brittle
bones) in postmenopausal women.
Famvir is an antiviral used to treat herpes zoster
(shingles) and genital herpes. It may also be used to
treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Fosamax is a hormone used treat adults with Paget's disease of
the bone and osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.
Ortho Evra
Patch
This combination hormone patch is used to prevent pregnancy.
It contains hormones similar to those in birth control
pills. The hormones release from the patch slowly over
time. Using this medication patch does not protect you
or your partner against HIV or other sexually transmitted
diseases (STDs).
Ortho Tri
Cyclen is an estrogen and progestin combination
used to prevent pregnancy. It may also be used to regulate
the menstrual cycle, treat symptoms of menopause, or
treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Prempro is a combination of hormones (estrogen
and progestin) used to treat menopausal symptoms (e.g.,
hot flashes, vaginal dryness). It is also used to prevent
bone loss (osteoporosis) in people at high risk. If
you are only being treated for vaginal menopause symptoms,
products applied locally such as vaginal creams, tablets,
or rings should be considered before products taken
by mouth or absorbed through the skin. There are several
medicines (e.g. raloxifene or bisphosphonates) that
are safe and effective to prevent or treat bone loss.
These medicines should be considered for use before
estrogen/progestin HRT for osteoporosis. If you have
other medical conditions as well and are prescribed
estrogen/progestin HRT for more than one condition,
consult your doctor about your treatment plan and its
options.
Triphasil is used to prevent pregnancy or to regulate
your menstrual cycle. Certain brands of birth control
pills may be used for treating acne or as a "morning
after" pill for emergency contraception. Consult
your doctor or pharmacist. Use of this medication does
not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted
diseases (e.g., HIV, gonorrhea).
Yasmin is used to prevent pregnancy.
Zebutal (generic Esgic Plus) is an analgesic, barbiturate, and stimulant combination used to treat tension headaches.
